At the present time we are currently negotiating new contracts with our certificated and classified labor unions.
Our employees deserve a fair and equitable contract that provides them with decent wages as well as health and dental benefits. The district and its labor unions are currently involved in contract negotiations. It is important that we bring closure to these talks in a timely manner. As your board member, I will work with my colleagues to ensure that our employees get compensated fairly for their hard work with our children. Our valley is indeed an expensive place to live and the cost of living is very high. Teachers and classified employees need to earn a salary that allows them the ability to survive financially in this area. Therefore, I will continue to make this subject a top priority as I seek another term on the board.
