Comprehensive Beautification and Street Improvement Plan and More Accessible Local Government.

By Jerry A. Grunor

Candidate for Council Member; City of Dana Point

This information is provided by the candidate
I Pledge to develop a comprehensive beautification and street improvement plan as well as a more accessible government.
My top priority is to clean up our water and beaches by working with environmental agencies and surrounding cities to create and implement a workable, collaborative cleaning effort.

I pledge to develop a comprehensive beautification and street improvement plan to create a better environment for businesses and tourists, commencing with the strategic planning initiative in the Lantern Village. Some projects we must explore are underground wiring, landscaping vacant lots and fixing cracked sidewalks.

I also pledge to address our parking problems at the harbor and the downtown area by providing diagonal and parallel parking and better access to our shopping centers. This means we must lower the speed limit on PCH and Del Prado and make our shopping centers user friendly with better signing.

I also pledge to expand our library to include more services and resources, and to make sure we have enough parks and recreational facilities for our children, and public buses for our senior citizens to take them to the community centers, medical centers, and to the many shopping facilities around our city.

I also pledge to provide a more open and accessible city government that addresses the needs of the residents and eliminates wasteful spending.

My mission is to provide honest leadership to the Council and bring our community together. I know how to focus on what is measurable and how we can bring progress, yet keep the small town look and feel to Dana Point.

I am willing to invest my time in the spirit of working with our residents by taking on this great responsibility to represent all of the people in Dana Point.
