Possibly because San Francisco has such a large majority of Democratic Party members, the party has become splintered and focussed on individuals, rather than issues. I want us to get back to the core issues of the Democratic Party and generate excitement about the party and the act of voting. I believe our infighting is costing us members and preventing us from growing stronger. A strong, cohesive party in San Francisco can affect the outcome of votes for the entire state on state issues.

I also want to see a stronger role for women in San Francisco politics. I am not suggesting that women are better, just different than men. We work differently and we bring different issues to the table, such as those involving children and families (childcare, elderly, youth, etc.), mental health issues, and many daily living issues. In my role as a member of the Democratic Central Committee I will be holding future candidates accountable to these issues.
