Candidate for
Democratic Party County Central Committee; Assembly District 21

This information is provided by the candidate

  • Youngest Candidate and Long-Time West Santa Clara County Resident: At the age of 29, I am the youngest candidate running for the County Committee in this region. At the same time, I am also a long-time resident of the district -- I graduated from Los Gatos High School in 1990, and I have lived in Palo Alto since 1997. I am also a product of the public schools of Northern California; after attending LGHS I went on to study Political Science and History at U.C. Berkeley and obtained my J.D. from U.C. Hastings in San Francisco.

  • Attorney With A Commitment to Pro Bono Representation: I practice technology law at Heller Ehrman White & McAuliffe, focusing on complex patent and commercial disputes. As an attorney, I have been committed to the community, and to pro bono representation. For example, I served as co-counsel in a pro bono matter brought against the City of Sunnyvale based on Sunnyvale's decision to tow and impound cars under regulations that had a disproportionate impact on low-income residents, in violation of California law. More recently, I served as counsel in pro bono litigation brought on behalf of a senior citizen and 40-year resident of Menlo Park against a predatory lender after she lost her home to the predator in foreclosure; following the litigation our client was able to purchase a new home.

  • A Democratic Leader: Since high school, I have been active in Democratic politics. For example, I served as a Precinct Leader for the Clinton/Gore/Boxer/Feinstein campaign of 1992 (a highlight of which was a televised debate with a regional Young Republicans organization, which we won handily). More recently, I served as one of the founding members of the Peninsula Young Democrats -- among the largest Young Democrat clubs in California -- and now serve as one of its elected officers.
