Candidate for
Member, Governing Board; Murrieta Valley Unified School District

I moved to Murrieta in 1991 with my husband, Gary, a local small business owner, and three daughters, Elizabeth, a seventh grade student at Thompson Middle School, Jennifer a second year student at UCLA and MVHS 2000 Valedictorian, and Sara, married, one child. My Bachelors and Masters degrees in Psychology are from California State University, Long Beach. I am employed as a behavior management specialist serving special education students and their families.

From volunteering in my children's' classrooms to organizing community-wide functions, community volunteer activities have been an important part of my life. In 1999, as Vice President of Programs for the Murrieta Valley Council PTA, I organized the first Murrieta Community Service and Health Fair which brought together not only service and health care organizations, but City and School organizations as well. In 2000, I again chaired this event, and with the addition of the Murrieta Chamber of Commerce we presented the Community Service and Health Fair and Business Expo, attended by thousands of Murrieta citizens.

I will bring this spirit of community unification to the school board. Our entire community - city and county officials as well as business leaders, benefit from outstanding schools. We must work together to create the best educational system for our students.
