City Council; City of La Mesa

Dave is a life time East County Resident He grew up in El Cajon and graduated from El Cajon Valley High School in 1970. He served in the United States Air Force and was Honorably Discharged at the end of the Viet Nam War. Dave and his wife Debbie settled in La Mesa in 1979 and have lived here for 21 years. They have three school age children and the oldest is in her first year at Helix High School.

As La Mesa Athletic Council President Dave has worked to improve sports programs and facilities throughout La Mesa. He worked with Jay La Suer to implement background checks for coaches. He also led the fight to get access to previously unavailable parkland in La Mesa for Youth Soccer. And Dave brought the Athletic Council into partnership in the La Mesa Parks Project providing recreational opportunities for children, adults, seniors, and the physically challenged.

Dave has developed an excellent working relationship with current Members of La Mesa City Council and with City Staff including the City Manager, Directors of Public Works, Community Development and Community Services. He also currently serves on an East County Advisory Panel for Parks and Recreation as a Diane Jacob appointee.
