Vista Village International
A Totally Unique Shopping Center

Redevelopment Area is divided into "continents". Each country designs a three-story vending and service facility featuring their art and landscape. Businesses related to the host country co-occupy the facility. Roof-garden open air restaurants host all holiday events, as well and cultural and social gatherings and weddings.

  • Internet sales sites would be paired with onsite sales
  • Handmade items would be the primary shopping feature

  • Architecture, landscape and cultural events would be the primary social attractions

  • As Shakespeare prefeffed, these offerings can include "something for everyone" even within ethnic and cultural groups and subgroups

What this offers the City
  • Exposure to international trade and culture

  • Money - much more income than a theatre and shops

  • Many jobs for a diverse population of Vistans

  • Nondiscriminatory economic development

  • Successful use of the Redevelopment Zone

  • The Village itself will be an architectural attraction unlike any other, anywhere

  • The landscape comes first, not last, as with the other project

  • Incentive for Vista youngsters and adults to pursue education and improvement

  • Quality of Life advantages

  • It passes the "smell tests;" an imitation Carlsbad redevelopment does not pass

  • It works with the surrounding community - not against it

  • Avoids the necessity of an ugly car lot entrance to Vista

  • No developer is necessary

Particularly suited to southern California climate:

    • Southern California is supposed to be a cutting edge area, designing for the future

    • Vista Village International invites and includes everyone in an Olympic-style business and cultural center

    • An International Trade Center working for customers and countries alike
