I have allocated and administered million dollar government budgets, I have run my own business here in La Mesa and I taught at the Community College level both in the private and public sector.

I currently chair the La Mesa Community Services Commission, I have participated in both La Mesa Community Summits and I am a graduate of the first La Mesa Police Department's Citizens' Academy. I have been a resident of La Mesa for 29 years and a Neighborhood Watch Captain for 15 years.

I have been effective in getting La Mesa to modify city ordinances, creating the first residence-only parking zone in La Mesa and I have worked with the Police Department to increase police presence in the neighborhood.

I have proposed that the Police Department conduct mini citizens' academies through Neighborhood Watch to inform residents what actions police can and cannot take when a problem is reported and what citizens can do to enable the police to better respond to neighborhood problems.
