Adovate for several programs: rigorous summer school programs, expanded after school programs, and intervention programs for at risk students.
I would advocate for rigorous summer school and intrevention programs for low achieving students. I would also establish expanded after school tutorial programs. Once programs are establish they need to be monitored for the effectiveness of each program. If the program is not functioning to our expectation and satisfaction we need to remove it, and start a new program. This is an on going process. Teachers are the key resource for input in establishing and measuring the programs effectiveness. The final goal is to have low achieving students reach their highest potential.
