Fighting for Local Control

As an El Monte city councilman, Tony Fellow saw Sacramento raid city coffers to balance the state's budget.

These are funds cities need to repair streets,build parks, and refurbish neighborhoods. Some cities have raised utility taxes to operate.

Fellow vows to put an end to unfunded state mandates. He continues to ask the question, "why isn't the San Gabriel Valley taken seriously in Sacramento"?

Creating Jobs

California and the United States are in the sixth year of an economic expansion. The state's economy is growing at a rate that is 50 percent faster than the national economy.

These glowing reports of limitless expansion gloss over dislocations affecting working Americans. The fruits of economy recovery have not been equally shared, with some 948,000 Californians remaining officially jobless.

Investing in an aggressive infrastructure improvement projects to build badly needed new facilities and repair existing ones is one way to create meaningful jobs.

Tony Fellow strongly supports the building of the Alameda Corridor to bring in more cargo to the port of Los Angeles, and to help move freight out of those harbors faster and more efficiently. The Alameda Corridor means thousands of new jobs and reduced traffic on our freeways and city streets. We need tolead the fight for more Federal Funds for re-tooling and for Research and Development.

Fighting Crime

Tony Fellow's actions have helped make El Monte one of the 10 safest cities in America.

He has supported the police helicopter program and voted to extend its coverage to Baldwin Park. He has demonstrated a no-tolerance stand against gangs and drug users.

Now he wants to reduce juvenile crime and turn all juvenile detention facilities into "Boot Camps."
