Emergency Medical Services Coverage for Rancho Santa Margarita

By Richard B. Oakley

Candidate for Council Member; Proposed City of Rancho Santa Margarita

This information is provided by the candidate
I believe we need to strengthen our Emergency Medical Service (EMS) coverage.
With the changing demographics of Rancho Santa Margarita, I believe the new City Council will need to investigate the current level of Emergency Medical Services (EMS) supplied by the Orange County Fire Authority.

Given the welcome addition to our community of both a senior living center and an assisted living center, we need to ensure that all of our citizens, young and old, have adequate EMS coverage.

With the large number of children and young adults participating in group sports, combined with the influx of new residents in our community and the surrounding areas, we could very easily overtax our current level of coverage.

I strongly believe the new City Council will need to work with the OCFA to strengthen and improve our EMS coverage.
