Member, City Council; City of Mill Valley

This information is provided by the candidate

Nancy is committed to an open and accesible city government that is responsive and open to different points of view--one that listens to and reflects the interests of all our neighborhoods, from shoreline to ridge lines, and our all our businesses, from the freeway frontage to Lytton Square. Her record on the Planning Commission and elsewhere has been one of tireless advocacy of appropriately scaled, compatible, and environmentally sensitive design, and of following the city's planning regulations and policies no matter who the applicant. She hasn't just "talked the talk" at election time!

  • Protection of our creeks
  • Stronger, clearer design review procedures and policies
  • Consistent interpretation, application, and enforcement of laws and policies, especially for planning and building
  • Incentives for Historic Preservation
  • Safer pedestrian and bicycle routes to schools, the Community Center, and town square
  • Maintenance and improvement of our public lanes, stairs, and walking paths
  • Preservation of our housing stock and provision of more affordable housing
  • Improved Public Transit and Para-Transit Service such as shuttles
  • Working with the schools and parents to reduce vehicular usage
  • Policies to support businesses suited to Mill Valley's scale and needs
  • Specifying locations for chain stores
  • Keeping our Community Center on time, on budget, and affordable to all
