Political Philosophy for Paul M. Cohen

Candidate for
Member, City Council; City of San Rafael

This information is provided by the candidate

San Rafael has progressed during my eight years on the Council. I am pleased with our vibrant downtown and the vision that created it. I look forward to partnering with residents and bringing the North San Rafael vision to life. New focus and energy has enriched our diverse Canal neighborhood.

Our "Community Policing" program has brought back 'beat' officers that know our neighborhoods. Our award winning Fire Department provides top-notch fire prevention, and we must continue to support our paramedics and keep public safety our highest priority.

Economic vitality has resulted in business prosperity, more workforce housing, and stronger city budgets. We should continue to improve our community and support a dynamic high--tech local economy.

But we must manage our success so problems like traffic and parking don't destroy our quality of life. We should be leaders in a regional approach to transportation and land use that preserves and enhances our natural environment.

I have always sought creative solutions to the challenges that face us, and listened carefully to your concerns and ideas on making this a better community. I pledge to continue these efforts, if you give me the opportunity.

Please vote for Paul Cohen for San Rafael City Council.
