The Council Should Fund Basic Services and Infrastructure Improvements, not a City Hall.

By Thomas G. Del Beccaro

Candidate for Council Member; City of Lafayette

This information is provided by the candidate
We must reverse the Council's policies of letting basic services and infrastructure deteriorate.
Did you know that the City has a $1.7 million fund to build a City Hall, in the distant future, that the Council supplements each year?

Did you know that the Council claims that there is not enough money in the budget to fund the enforcement of speed limits and/or the improvemements to our sidewalks and crosswalks?

It is time to reverse those policies. The simple facts are that Lafayette can afford additional speed limit enforcement and additional improvements to our sidewalks and crosswalks. It is not a question of whether there is a way, but whether we have the will.

The City Council whould reallocate potions of the City Hall Fund for the infrasctucture improvements so that all of our citizens, especially our children and seniors have improved walkways. Further, a portion of the City Hall Fund should be used to fund speed limit enforcement measures at our gateways for everyone's safety.

Vote to change the priorities of the Council. Vote Del Beccaro for Council.
