We Need to Enforce Our Exisitng Open Space/Ridgeline Ordinances

By Thomas G. Del Beccaro

Candidate for Council Member; City of Lafayette

This information is provided by the candidate
The City is not enforcing all of our ridgline ordinances. We need to step up our enforcement efforts.
Recently, a concerned Burton Valley citizen questioned our City Staff as to why certain ridgeline ordinances were not being enforced. The Staff response should bother you. The staffer stated that the rule in question was no longer being enforced.

Our ridgelines and open space are priceless assets of the City of Lafayette and its Citizens. It is simply not acceptable to allow protective ordinances to be ignored. The existing ordinances can be enforced with little legal risk to the City. I urge you to write to the Council in support of all of those ordinances. Each candidate should pledge their support.

I urge you to vote for me and to help me preserve the ridgelines.
