SUZANNE ANGELI FOR PLEASANT HILL CITY COUNCIL CANDIDATE POSITION STATEMENT

TRAFFIC

How people maneuver the neighborhoods, commercial districts via streets, thoroughfares and freeways crisscrossing Pleasant Hill is of vital and increasing importance to local residents. I am committed to working with the city public works staff, our topnotch police department, CalTrans and neighboring communities to secure the best, safest and least intrusive traffic patterns for all of our residents winding their way about in cars, bicycles and on foot.

Each issue must be examined and evaluated on its own merits, considering neighborhood community impacts along with those for the wider community and Central County.

The city's traffic advisory panel serves to formulate the city council's first review. As with all of the city's advisory groups, the traffic panel must feel free to bring its opinions and insights to the council for respectful, thoughtful consideration. With several traffic matters, the council must work in tandem with neighboring communities on shared concerns to make sure all of our streets, from the most congested to the least, are safe.
