Revenue enhancement to renovate aging schools.

By Rudy N. Nasol

Candidate for Governing Board Member; Berryessa Union School District

This information is provided by the candidate
The outdoor and indoor physical school environment affects the learning experience of all students.
The majority of the schools in Berryessa are old and needs to be renovated and modernized. Limited school funding resulted in the premature deterioration of our schools. Just like our homes, as our house roof gets old, we need to replace them or they will leak and damage the house interior. Our heater needs to be replaced or they will fail and we suffer during cold nights.

In Sunnyvale School District where I work as Director of Facilities and Operations, we passed a general obligation bond in 1996 with an 85% "Yes" vote. The school community worked very hard to communicate to the voters how badly the district needs to address the aging facilities. I am responsible for the full implementation of our renovation projects funded by the GO bond money. I report to a Citizens Oversight Committee who in turn reports to the Board of Education.

I am committed to work very hard to communicate to the voters of Berryessa the next time we ask them to approve a GO Bond. The District needs to do it right this time.
