As Assistant Sheriff the last eight years, Ruben Diaz has worked implementing programs to increase public safety and deputy productivity by:

--Establishing neighborhood Crime Prevention Fairs
--Creating the Rural Crime Prevention Unit and the Emerging Technology Unit
--Managing the Field Enforcement Bureau's patrol deputies for over six years
--Developing programs to improve deputy response times
--Implementing a laptop computer program
--Managing security for the 1994 World Cup, San Francisco venue
