As Riverside County Superintendent of Schools, Dave Long will:

Provide the resources to raise reading and math scores --

Reading is the most critical area in our educational system. We need to step up to the plate and relate to the public that we will be held accountable for reading and math scores.

Provide resources necessary for safe schools --

It is absolutely critical in the 90s that we help establish and maintain a safe learning environment for our children. Dave Long is committed to safe schools.

Fight for local funding for new and modern classroom facilities --

Riverside County is one of the fastest growing counties in the United States. Because of the tremendous increase in students each year, there is a critical need for new facilities. In our district, we have built six schools in the last eight years. To accomplish this, Dave pledges to you that he will fight for those funding dollars to house our children.

This can be accomplished with positive relationships that he has built and fostered with assemblymen and senators from our county.

Ensure a fair allocation of money to all Riverside County School Districts...your child counts --

Dave Long will ensure equity in district allocation of dollars and also pledge that programs that benefit children will be available to all districts in the County.

Develop an aggressive technology learning plan for students - second to none --

This is indeed the age of technology. We must have an aggressive, comprehensive plan for technology to guarantee that our students are prepared for the 21st century.
