Recent surveys have shown that people have become increasingly distrustful of and frustrated with their elected leaders. And with good reason. For the most part, elected officials have not been honest with the people they represent, serving instead the very special interests who bankrolled their political campaigns. If we are to survive as a nation, we must elect and keep in office individuals who will restore the faith and trust of the people in our elected officials, especially at the local or grass roots level.

As your City Councilman for the last four years, I am proud to say that I have consistently voted on behalf of the people of Laguna Niguel in matters before the City Council. I have been---and continue to be---a taxpayers' rights advocate, a seniors' rights advocate, and a victims' rights advocate. I have a 100% attendance record and a 100% populist conservative voting record on the City Council. I have successfully debated pro-El Toro airport activists---on their home turf---and won! I enthusiastically support the Millenium Plan as a viable non-aviation use alternative for El Toro, and favor an initiative to place that choice before the voters next year.

But because I refuse to be a rubber stamp for the developers , because I will not play the "business-as-usual" game, because I am a voice---not an echo, certain powerful special interests in our City will be spending tens of thousands of dollars in an attempt to defeat me and elect another one of their puppets to the City Council this year.

I hope you will not let that happen. I will not accept any special interest money. Also, I will not accept campaign contributions in excess of $100 from anyone! Your support will make it possible for me to continue to stand up and speak out for the residents of Laguna Niguel.

Please vote to re-elect Eddie Rose for Laguna Niguel City Council on Tuesday, November 3rd. Thank you very much.
