Eddie Rose was elected to the Laguna Niguel City Council in 1994. Eddie is a long-time member of the Howard Jarvis Taxpayers Association and is a staunch taxpayers' rights, seniors' rights, and victims' rights advocate. Eddie has also been a strong supporter of campaign finance reform and has led the fight in Laguna Niguel and Orange County to expose government waste and political corruption. Following the Orange County bankruptcy debacle, Eddie joined with numerous concerned citizens to help defeat the ill-advised half-cent sales tax proposal (Measure R), as well as the equally ill-advised proposed county charter (Measure T). In 1996, Eddie wrote the ballot argument in support of Term Limits, a county-wide Measure which passed overwhelmingly.

Eddie Rose was also an early and active supporter of Proposition 187 (to eliminate welfare benefits to illegal aliens), and Proposition 209 (to eliminate reverse discrimination). Presently, Eddie is working with various groups and individuals throughout south Orange County to stop the proposed commercial airport at El Toro.

Eddie is a registered Professional Quality Engineer in the State of California and holds a Master of Science degree in Systems Management from the University of Southern California, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering Administration from Pepperdine University. Eddie has been a member of the American Society for Quality Control for over 20 years, and served in the aerospace industry as a Quality and Reliability Engineer/Manager for McDonnell Douglas, Hughes Aircraft and Ford Aerospace/Loral. He also holds a teaching credential in the California Community College system.

For hobbies, Eddie enjoys golf, tennis, softball, bicycle riding, and duplicate bridge. Eddie is a Gold Life Master in the American Contract Bridge League (ACBL).

Eddie has lived in Laguna Niguel since 1978. He believes that integrity in government means "doing the right thing for the right reasons". He prides himself on representing the people---not the special interests.
