A Change in Decision Making and Early Literacy Intervention

By David L. "Dave" Barger

Candidate for Governing Board Member; Rosedale Union School District

This information is provided by the candidate
Good Leadership is the key to a successful education system. Governing Boards need to collaborate with the educators, staff, and parents in order to make good curriculum decisions.
I would like to see changes in the way the Board makes Decisions. A collaborative or team approach is needed and long overdue for the Rosedale District. Parents and teachers need to be engaged in the business of selecting and implementing curriculum. Too long has the Governing Board used a "top down" approach to these important decisions. The State has mandated that every child should be a reader on grade level by the third grade. It is time we got serious about a meaningful program.
