Biography for Harry Norris

Harry Norris was born and raised in Colorado. He graduated from Colorado State University in 1967 with a major in Business Adminstration.

Several months after graduation Harry joined the US Army. While serving in Vietnam as an infantry platoon leader he was twice awarded the Bronze Star, once for Valor and once for Meritorious Service.

After three years in the Army, Harry spent the next fourteen years with Amoco Oil Company. Then, in 1984 Harry left the corporate life, moved from Des Moines, Iowa to El Dorado Hills, and bought the business he operates today.

Harry and wife, Jan, still live in El Dorado Hills where he remains active in the community. Harry's and Jan's business, El Dorado Hills 76, was named, "Small Business of the Year" for 1990 by the El Dorado County Chamber of Commerce. Harry was named, "Citizen of the Year" for 1998 by the El Dorado Hills Chamber of Commerce.

Mr. Norris has served on the El Dorado County School board since 1993 where he has learned a lot about successful board/management relations. El Dorado County Office of Education is widely recognzed as being one of the best in the state.

Excellent managers and experienced staff at the two businesses Harry operates will allow him to devote the necesssary time and effort to be an effective EID board member representing the El Dorado Hills area.
