Smart Voter Full Biography for Meg Brooks

Candidate for
Governing Board Member; San Miguel Joint Union School District

This information is provided by the candidate

My name is Meg Brooks, my family and I have been associated with Lillian Larsen School for thirteen years.During this time we have had three of our six children and two of our six grandchildren attend Lillian Larsen. I have held two terms on the School Site Council and two terms on the PTO as Vice President.I have been an employee for two years, working with special education students.

If I am elected to the school board I would spend time on campus getting to know the staff members, students and their families. This is the beauty of a small district. I would like to communicate with all of the employees on campus . I believe that knowing the school employees, students and families, will help me make the decisions I will be asked to make as a board member. I know that I will be making decisions that can effect all of us,and I need to know what your expectations are, as well as what you see as the positive aspects of Lillian Larsen School. As a board member I would welcome phone calls, E-mails and letters.

If selected I will respect the opinions of the staff who work with our students every day. I will observe the impact of the school boards decisions on all concerned. As a board member I hope to learn from other peoples experiences and expertise. I feel that with everyone working together we can work toward our mission statement, striving to "ACHIEVE EXCELLENCE FOR ALL"
