Council Member; City of San Mateo; 4 Year Term

This information is provided by the candidate

San Mateo is blessed with an amazing quality of life and sense of community, with unique individual neighborhoods. But it will takes vigilance to keep it that way.

Diane's priorities for San Mateo are:

1. Protecting 911, Police & Fire services. Diane will work to maintain police patrols, 9-1-1 emergency response, crime prevention and gang prevention programs, and fire protection at levels that keep our San Mateo families safe and protect local businesses.

2. After School Programs and Educational Excellence. As a busy working professional and mother, Diane understands first-hand that quality education is a concern for us all. Diane will work to expand city-school partnerships and advocate for the after-school and recreation programs that are important to keeping youth focused and away from gangs and drugs.

3. Fixing Potholes and San Mateo's Aging Infrastructure. San Mateo has over 191 miles of deteriorating streets and 380 miles of sidewalks. One of Diane's top priorities is repairing our aging streets, sidewalks, sewers, and storm drains now before they become more expensive to fix in the future.

4. Protecting San Mateo's Neighborhoods and Community's Character. Responsible growth strikes a balance between community character, economy vitality, affordability, sustainability, and protecting the environment.
