Priorities & Goals

By Ramiro Maldonado

Candidate for Board Member; San Mateo County Community College District

This information is provided by the candidate
I have called San Mateo County my home for the last 9 years and love this great community. Throughout my career, I have dedicated myself to improving the lives of everyone in our community. I will work hard to serve the interest of our students first, and to support the employees who create a dynamic student centered district. I will work with all constituents to find resolutions and outcomes that will expand and continue the success that our community college district has accomplished in the educational and financial arenas. Our community colleges currently reside in the land of innovation and we need to continue to create a workforce that can assist in forwarding great minds and ideas in addition to creating and sustaining skilled level professions.

My priorities will be to work hard to ensure that the San Mateo County Community College District provides the:

1. Highest quality educational opportunities for students

2. Increases access for traditionally underserved members of the community

3. Maintains fiscal stability, and

4. Is responsive to community needs.

I have over 10 years of experience working in the non-profit sector in fund development, marketing, and public policy. I will use this experience, my training and education to do the best job that I can to represent the community. I have always had an open door policy and will always make myself available to the public.
