Educational Excellence - Make Our Great School Even Better

  • Expand best practice in differentiated learning to challenge and engage each student at a level appropriate to them.
  • Thoughtfully explore how we use technology to support differentiated instruction, as well as to free teachers from rote tasks so they can focus on interacting with students.
  • Support the ongoing transition to Common Core.

Efficient and Responsible Use of Scarce Resources
  • Reflect these educational objectives in our new strategic plan and ensure they are properly resourced.
  • Strengthen our budgeting process to better anticipate and model revenues and expenses.
  • Develop policy on how to manage our expense base for uncertain revenues.

Accessibility and Responsiveness to Community Input

Ensuring that our school meets the diverse needs of Woodside requires listening to and learning from all members of our community.

I will work closely with the PTA and the Woodside School Foundation, as well as with other key stakeholders (town, church, library, business district) to find solutions.

I will remain an active participant in school and community activities, so that anyone with ideas or concerns can easily find me.

My phone is 650.206.9265 and my email is jdhornstein@gmail.com. Please reach out if you have questions in advance of voting - and know that I look forward to hearing from your afterward as well.
