Concerns have been raised about the safety of the proposed upgrades to the Novato Downtown Bus Facility on Redwood Boulevard between Grant and DeLong Avenues.

This facility is operated and maintained by the Marin Transit Agency which is also accountable for the safety of patrons and vehicles.

As the facility is located in Novato, the proposed upgrade was submitted for review and approval of the Novato City Council.

In public testimony, experts from the Marin Transit Agency, the Golden Gate Transit Agency, Mark Thomas Engineering and the City of Novato agreed that the proposed design changes are safer for both vehicles and patrons.

As a Council member I voted to approve the proposed upgrade based on the expert testimony. The Novato City Council approved the project on a 4-1 vote.
