Jeff Gorman was born and raised in Monterey, living most of his life on the Monterey Peninsula. Jeff was educated in local Monterey K-12 schools; he attended Monte Vista, Colton, and graduated from Monterey High School class of 1986. He entered University of California Berkeley as a freshman in the College of Chemistry before transferring to the College of Letters and Science earning a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science.

Jeff is a proud Cal Alum, and has served 12 years as the President of the Monterey Cal Club. He currently serves as Treasurer.

After graduating from college, Jeff began a 23-year career in the financial sector working for 5 years in San Francisco as a bond trader for GT Global. In 1997, he returned home to Monterey. From 1997-2009 he worked as a broker for major brokerage firms, including Paine Webber, Morgan Stanley Dean Witter and Merrill Lynch. In 2009, Jeff ventured on his own and started Gorman Financial. He maintains an office in downtown Monterey.

Jeff is a licensed FINRA Stock Broker and earned a "Certificate in Financial Planning" from Boston University in 2012.

Public service is in Jeff Gorman's blood. His influences in Monterey civic service starts with his father, Dennis Gorman, who served over 30 years as the City Engineer for the City of Monterey. His mother, Dottie Roberson, previously served on the League of Women Voters. Since 1979, she has worked for Hank Ketcham Enterprises, which produced the artwork for the cartoon Dennis the Menace. She also sang on the volunteer Choir at the Bach Festival for several years. Additionally, Jeff's stepfather is a longtime elected leader and current Monterey Mayor Clyde Roberson. All have had a tremendous influence on Jeff, inspiring him to volunteer and to give back the to community.

Like his family role models, Jeff has been active in Monterey most of his adult life. He has served as a Director/Treasurer of the Armstrong Foundation and is a Member of Friends of the Hartnell Gulch. For 13 years, he has been a member of the Monterey Elks Lodge, and serves on their Audit Committee. Jeff is the President of Monterey's Serra Club and has been an active volunteer with the Big Sur Land Trust and a trained volunteer member of CERT- Community Emergency Response Team.

Jeff married the love of his life, Kathleen Waligora 13 years ago. She has been a teacher at Monterey Peninsula Unified School District since 1997. Her parents have been helping Monterey citizens for decades. Kathleen's father is Dr. Daniel Waligora. He has been in practice in Monterey for over 50 years. Her mother is Peggy Waligora, a retired MPUSD school nurse.

Jeff and Kathleen are the proud parents of Anna Gorman, their 10 year old daughter who attends San Carlos school.
