Governing Board Member; Antelope Valley Joint Union High School District

This information is provided by the candidate

Thank you for the opportunity to serve our students, parents, teachers, employees and taxpayers. For 17 years, I worked to improve education as a Teacher at both Lancaster and Palmdale High Schools and as a Director of the Cedar Street Theater.

As your High School Board Trustee, I am dedicated to supporting the highest standards of academic excellence and financial responsibility. Together, we have achieved many successes during my first term on the Board, including:

Academic Excellence: Developed innovative educational programs to improve student test scores. Increased focus on STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) to give students improved access to high paying careers.

Award-Winning Schools: SOAR High School earns nationally recognition for academics. Several Valley High Schools receive "Golden Bell" Honors for educational achievement. Our students earned National Robotics Award in a nationwide competition. Endorsed by our High School District Employees.

Accountability: Implemented Local Control Accountability Plan to reduce bureaucracy and provide more flexibility to meet the needs of individual students.

Safety: Maintained a strong commitment to campus safety. Proudly endorsed by our Professional Peace Officers.

I would be honored to earn your vote and continue working for quality education.
