As a candidate for the PVPUSD Board of Education, Dawn Lenzie is uniquely qualified to protect the public interest in our schools and ensure that the highest quality of education is provided to each student. She brings to her candidacy a diverse background in management and the economics of education, with a focus on equal access to a district wide, rigorous curriculum, meaningfully employed technology, and differentiated instruction in order that each student is afforded the opportunity to reach their maximum learning potential.

Dawn received her Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science at Texas Christian University, with a minor in Economics. Her teaching certificate is in Social Studies, and she taught high school government and economics before going back to school for her Master's degree in Public Administration.

At the Town of Westlake, a small, but affluent part of Texas, Dawn worked as the assistant to the Town Manager/Superintendent of Schools. With the Director of Finance, Dawn created and procured approval of both town and school budgets and she worked carefully with the Texas Education Agency during the construction of the Westlake Academy, the only charter school in Texas owned by a town.

When she moved to Palos Verdes with her husband of 17 years and their daughter, now in middle school at Miraleste, Dawn immediately began working with the Rancho Vista Elementary PTA, of which she was the president for two years. Dawn worked with nearly all of the PTAs on the peninsula to bring to parents the electronic PTA back to school registration packets through the district registration committee that she has chaired for the past two years. She has regularly attended meetings of the PVPUSD Board of Education since August 2014 and worked closely with Principal MacDonald and Superintendent Austin in her capacity as PTA President and PVP Council board member. Dawn currently serves on the GATE Parent Advisory Committee and on the Miraleste PTA board. In their spare time, the Lenzies enjoy cooking and playing golf.
