Community Service

I have been an active community leader and volunteer in our city for over ten years. I have hands-on experience working with the current City Council and City staff and am committed to maintaining the unique lifestyle and beauty of our community as we move in to the future.

I am currently in my seventh year as a member of the City's Cultural Recreation Advisory Board, serving my second term as Vice-Chairperson. This Board plans City events such as the Summer Concert Series, Westlake Village Reads, City Celebration, and the Fourth of July events, working closely with the City Council and staff. We also staff the events, and assist citizens with questions and concerns.

In 2008 I also served on the Campaign Steering Committee and the Communications subcommittee for the planning and eventual construction of the new Westlake Village Community Park. The opening of the park, with its sports fields and recreational space, has been very gratifying, since I have also spent many years volunteering in youth sports in the Conejo Valley.

I served on the board and Executive Board of Westlake Baseball for four years beginning in 2004, and was involved in all aspects of administrating a recreational baseball league for boys and girls ages 5-15. I am currently in my seventh year as a director with PONY baseball, the regional baseball organization that oversees local Southern California leagues. We plan and direct a series of PONY sanctioned tournaments for baseball players ages 5-15 every summer, and assist local baseball leagues with administration and organization throughout the year.

When my children attended White Oak Elementary, I served as the Vice President for Fundraising and the Direct Donation Chairperson for the Parent Faculty Club. I also served on the Curriculum Committee for LVUSD from 2007-2009.

My daughter and I are currently in our sixth year of membership in National Charity League, a philanthropic organization dedicated to community service in the Conejo Valley. I helped manage the non-profit NCL Thrift Shop, published the weekly newsletter, and volunteered with my daughter at local organizations including Many Mansions, Life Animal Rescue and the Conejo Recreation and Park District.

Professional Experience

I am a licensed attorney and practiced law for 13 years in the Los Angeles area. I have extensive experience in litigation, settlement negotiations and arbitrations. I also taught Business Law and Criminal Law and Procedure at Oxnard College for two years.

Following my legal career, I served as a member of the Board of Trustees for St. Patrick's Day School in Thousand Oaks and worked as their Development Director. As Development Director, I was solely responsible for the planning and execution of the school's fundraising programs.

Personal

My husband Keith, my two children, Charles (19) and Meredith (17) and I have lived in the Three Springs neighborhood for the past 14 years. We enjoy all aspects of Westlake Village, including the parks, the Westlake Athletic Club, the golf course, the lake and the restaurants and shopping areas. We are fortunate to have had the opportunity to raise our family in Westlake Village, and I am committed to preserving and enhancing our community for all current and future residents.
