IBrian A. Gutierrez is a longtime resident of West Covina, a successful businessman, community advocate, and former State Councilmember.

Coming from humble beginnings, Brian was raised by his aunt in West Covina. She taught him the importance of education and community service.

In High School, Brian saw how many of his peers did not have the resources for sports and extracurricular activities. No one, including the school administration, could help them. So Brian organized a fundraising effort, went walking to local businesses, and brought in money to help fund after-school activities. He continues this effort to this day and has raised over $100,000 for these programs.

During High School, he also worked to get school police equipped with radios and served on the West Covina Youth Council.

Brian's aunt passed away when he turned 18, and he became fully independent. He started working for Pensy Motor Group and started working his way up in public service.

At age 22, Brian was appointed by Governor Jerry Brown to the California State Council on Developmental Disabilities, becoming the youngest appointee in state history. At a time when the Council was misusing funds, Brian was charged with the task of fixing a broken system, which he completed within a year.

Brian has been internationally recognized for his work on behalf of individuals with developmental disabilities. Working with charities like Autism Speaks, Brian has brought many Latino celebrities to the cause of awareness, including soccer star Cristiano Ronaldo and musician Joan Sebastian.

Today Brian serves as the Executive Vice President of DEL Records, the n Latin American music label in the United States. He lives in West Covina, I where he is a c tive in many comm
