Student Mental Health

Too many students are struggling to make it through a school day. This is not because they aren't capable, but because of difficult home situations.

In many cases, students are unable to reach their full potential because of overwhelming issues that they are unable to cope with. Among these can be: bullying, parental incarceration, abuse, homelessness, or other traumatic circumstances.

Our students need ready access to mental health professionals.

Our educators need proper training in order to recognize and refer these students.

Infrastructure

Our school district is nationally renowned for the excellent education it offers. In order to continue to excel, our technology and pedagogical infrastructure must be solid.

It is unconscionable that we have facilities that are dilapidated and in some cases, unsafe. Our students deserve an environment conducive to learning.

College Preparation

Every student, regardless of their socio-economic status, should be able to attend college.

Proper preparation for the SAT, IGETC, and other college admission requirements should be a staple of curriculum beginning the first year of high school.

Stronger participation among local community colleges and universities must be encouraged.
