I have a lifelong love for learning and for teaching. I believe that great education enhances personal development as well as strengthens our democracy. Further, educaton should be lifelong----and should be accessible to the seeker.
Students now leave high school unprepared to think critically, to manage their finances, to enter college, to find a good job. The community colleges should play a critical role here but in Los Angeles these colleges are too often under-performing.
