I will work to expand support services for LACCD students.

Basic financial aid and instructive services are not enough for today's students. The LACCD should be offering innovative and cutting-edge support services to special-needs students, veterans and mature students, emancipated youth, and other students in need. From my years of working with community groups that help the underserved, I know how to get our students the services they need to succeed.

I will fight to get the funding the LACCD needs.

The past decade's budget cuts have compromised and downgraded the education our students deserve. The LACCD must have the resources to hire more faculty, offer more courses, and support the on-going maintenance and expansion needed over the next decade. Having learned from my experience working with the Legislature, I know how make LACCD's funding a priority once again.

I will connect our colleges with employers in Business and Labor.

The LACCD must become a more active and sustainable workforce pipeline for the business and public sectors. Fostering stronger connections between business and our schools will benefit those students transferring into 4-year colleges and universities in preparation to join the workforce, as well as those ready to work now who are pursuing a trade or a new career path. I've worked with Business and Labor and know how to align them more closely with our colleges so students will have better opportunities to fill job needs in the private and public sectors.
