It has been almost 30 years since I interned with Councilwoman Peggy Stevenson in high school. From that point forward I have wanted to serve on City Council. Since then I have accumulated solid experience creating an award winning transportation planning and marketing firm promoting alternative modes to SOVs, and recycling programs for regional and state government clients across the United States combined with leadership in non profit management to help disadvantaged, high risk youth gain a foothold on the ladder of success. I have served as a community leader in Hollywood United Neighborhood Council and Lake Hollywood Homeowners Association. The skills that I have honed over the past 30 years in the business, government and non-profit sectors gave me the edge I needed to help complete over 40 infrastructure jobs as Director of Special Projects to Councilman LaBonge from 2011 to 2013. Now, it is time to bring my success to this great city as Councilmember District 4 with the goals of creating a comprehensive transportation plan to help mitigate the congestion that is choking our City, attract development of more affordable housing, create incentives and reduce barriers to job creation, increase the partnership between the City and LAUSD to create more responsive education to the needs of today's economy and most of all dedicate funds to the City's infrastucture that has suffered too long from neglect - our streets, curbs, and water and power lines.

I am a registered Democrat, and my background in economics makes me a fiscal conservative.

Political heroes starts with Senator Dianne Feinstein for her ability to negotiate across the aisle, work on gun control, trade negotiations with China; Governor Gina Raimondo of Rhode Island + progressive Democrat, quintessential leader with an enviable educational pedigree and background in finance who got valuable pension reforms passed; 5 term Boston Mayor Thomas Menino + his love for Boston and its citizens was palpable and motivated his every action. Truly his philosophy was back to basics and give the people something for their tax dollars; Governor Jerry Brown + straight talking, hard working, self actualized leader who learned from his mistakes and focused on solving the tough problems with tough solutions and has shown fiscal constraint for a secure future for Californians.

Education: Chancellor's Scholar, UCLA, BA in Economics, BA in Psychology, 1984 Price Entrepreneurial Winner, UCLA, MBA, Organization and Strategic studies, 1987 Completed one year in PhD program in Economics, UCLA (specializing in Urban Economics) Various post grad classes at UCLA extension, including Systems Engineering to study Trash to Energy technologies, water management policies.
