The role of businesses in Carson must be acknowledged as they provide resources such as jobs for local and revenues that keep our property taxes low.My knowledge of the Port of Los Angeles and its impact on the local harbor communities makes me a great advocate for keeping our local business partners and attracting others to the City of Carson. My work with Port contractors has allowed me to interact with many local businesses. I understand their need for a stable, consistent governing body that stands by its decisions. Businesses need to plan years in advance and protect their investments within our communities. Balancing budgets on the backs of our local businesses is not a good way of respecting and acknowledging their contributions to the quality of life for Carson residents. Jobs, charitable contributions and training opportunities can be provided by local businesses. This must be acknowledged and considered when making decisions that might influence businesses to cease operations in our city. |
