I really think that every state should have a disabled person on the city council because this world it not easy to live with a disability and there are some able bodied people who don't realize that they have a voice too. Daniel Garcia really cares about the disabled people and he wants to make sure that they have what they need. The reason that I think Daniel will make a good candidate for the city council is he will make sure that the disabled people will a right to have a voice in this world. I know that Daniel will make sure that the sidewalks are safe for the wheelchairs to go down and the pot holes in the roads are fixed. Daniel wants to make sure that his town is very wheelchair accessible and he will not rest, until his job is done. I have read a lot of Daniel's work that he has posted online and you can tell that he is very interested in making things accessible to the disabled people in his city. Daniel Garcia really cares about the disabled people and I'm really glad that he's running for city council. Daniel needs your votes and he will take care of the things that are important. I'm very proud that Daniel wants to run for city council and I know that you can always count on him to help. I know that Daniel is a good husband, father, and friend. I also know that he will listen to people and do what he can to make life easier for people. Please vote for my friend, Daniel Garcia and let him make his town a better place for the disabled people.

It is with great pleasure that I recommend Daniel Garcia. I have known him for over ten years.
Daniel has always displayed a high degree of integrity, responsibility, and ambition. He is definitely a leader rather than a follower. In addition to his outstanding accomplishments, he has proven his leadership ability by organizing different types of events for Students With Disabilities connection which was a group at Cal State University Northridge (CSUN) that promoted the inclusion of persons with disabilities into the campus life which intern provided people the unique opportunity to learn about different disabilities which taught people campus wide that we are all one abilities not withstanding.

He is also a most dependable team player. His good judgment and positive outlook ensure a logical and practical approach to his endeavors.

Daniel would be an outstanding asset to The Los Angeles City Council 12th District, and I am happy to give him my wholehearted endorsement.

It's my honor to endorse Daniel Garcia for Los Angeles City Council. Daniel is that rare and classic American brand of hero who is humble in his personal aspirations and fearsome in his commitment to principle. I have known Daniel and his wife, Dina for a decade and a half when we presented together to parents of transitional children with disabilities in the L.A. Unified School District. Since that time, whenever I have seen Daniel he stayed out late advocating and as a member of the council, I know he'll be out late advocating for the people of the twelfth district. Daniel is a technical wizard, an innovator and, given that he is hard of hearing, a shockingly good listener. Citizens of the 12th district who believe in a city government that is community-focused, inclusive, responsive, changed and new can tell the world what they want by voting for my old friend, Daniel.

Sincerely,

During the decade that I have known Daniel and his family, I have seen them work tirelessly on behalf of the disability community to integrate, include, and innovate us all into the community at large in Los Angeles. Daniel's is a formidable voice for positive change and greater solidarity within the disability community as well. He is totally committed to the assets people with disabilities bring to the table in the fight for access and equal opportunities for everyone. I cannot think of a better representative of the diverse and dynamic community that the whole of Los Angeles is on its way to becoming. It is my honor to endorse Daniel Garcia for Los Angeles City Council. I have known Daniel for almost 20 years when he was hired at a non-profit organization I was involved in. He is a strong advocate for people with disabilities and the community at large. He puts the person first, not politics. He cares for people in his community and goes out of his way to help people. Daniel has advocated for people with disabilities by attending City Council meetings, rallies in Sacramento and in front of State Buildings. I believe Daniel would be an asset on the City Council and he will work for the citizens of the 12th District.

Daniel Garcia is the epitome of what a community activist should be. I have known Daniel about two years; he never ceases to amaze me with his level of commitment to our disabled community. We have served on one committee together, but I have seen him in action on many other committees which he serves on, and that I attend as a guest. One of my most respected moments of him was during a committee meeting when he voiced his concern about a certain policy which discriminated against those who are illiterate and not able to read warning notices sent to them. I sat there in admiration, knowing that Daniel is a college graduate, yet he never forgets about those who are less fortunate than him. In my opinion, this is truly the meaning of advocating for your community, not just on issues that only affect oneself. Daniel is always ready to volunteer whenever needed, and assist anyone who needs it. I also admire Daniel, as he unselfishly gives of his time to the disability community; he is an advocate who is not paid, yet he is always present at all major disability events. As a strong advocate in the disability community, I wholeheartedly endorse Daniel Garcia for City Council. Daniel proves to be an asset in all that he undertakes, and the L.A. City Council has much to gain by having him as a Councilman.

Daniel Garcia is a deeply thoughtful man of action. A systems change advocate, he looks at the world in the context of civil rights expressed in very practical terms. As my former co-worker, he was constantly proactive and hardworking, focused on task and even doing it with much enthusiasm and drawing a good following. You can trust Daniel to look out for the good of all, not only the Disabled Community but the entire human family that includes his wife Dina and his son Brandon. As an accomplished, astute community organizer, Daniel has eloquently spoken at public forums with his substantive proposals for better and just governance. Daniel commands respect with how he lives-- protective of the community, fierce defender of his family. --

It's been my privilege to know Daniel for more than a decade now. I understand that Daniel is running for office in his district. I can't think of anyone better suited to represent the community.

Daniel is a detected, hands on father and husband. He and his wife Dina have devoted their lives to making our community better, safer and friendlier for everyone. I am personally aware that Daniel travels to everywhere necessary to address community issues. He, with the support of his wife, researches the specific needs of the community, then takes these issues to the local and state officials.

I don't know a harder worker or more selfless person. There isn't anyone who knows Daniel that is not a better person because of the example he sets. As a community, we would all be blesses to have him as our representative.

Daniel Garcia
Candidate for Los Angeles City Council, District 12
Chatsworth, California
"I suggest to you that candidate Daniel Garcia offers the people of the North San Fernando Valley a chance at combining compassionate and aware grass-roots social organizing with a drive to refine and invigorate business and economic development. No other candidate in this city council election can boast of more tenacity, perseverance and real-world leadership experience than Mr. Daniel W. Garcia."

To Whom It May Concern,
I would like to offer my unwavering support for Mr. Daniel W Garcia in his bid for a seat on the Los Angeles City Council, District 12.

I have known Mr. Garcia for over 23 years. We attended our undergraduate studies together at California State University, Northridge (CSUN) and were both active in a number of campus activities. During our time at CSUN, a deadly earthquake shook the campus killing more than 70 people including students. For students with disabilities on campus, the event was especially horrific in that many were trapped amid the rubble without the ability to free themselves.

Daniel Garcia emerged as a leader after the disaster and during the prolonged rebuilding period thereafter. To this day, many community leaders still vividly remember Mr. Garcia and his socio-political organizing skills highlighted by his championing of the cause for students with disabilities. Many students with and without disabilities would not have had the social support necessary in order to complete their education without the highly energized efforts of Daniel Garcia. I personally count myself among these recipients of his care, representation and support. It is not overstating the case at all to say that he attended at least 500 community and campus events supporting the cause of students with special needs.

District 12 has a large number of residents with a proportionately large number of children and adults with disabilities living and working within its geographic boundaries. In my opinion both as a USC School of Social Work educator and UCLA graduate student, I cannot think of a single candidate currently running that can offer the experience, care and representation of community interests that Mr. Garcia can. Mr. Garcia's background offers an opportunity for the people of Chatsworth, Granada Hills, Northridge, Porter Ranch, West Hills, Sherwood Forest and North Hills\Reseda to truly promote their community's best interests in terms of quality of life and commercial advancement by electing Mr. Garcia as their City Councilman.

Yes, I say commercial advancement since it is widely documented in business and economic studies over the years that increasing physical access to community services for a disabled and non-disabled citizenry increases both productivity and granular business development across multiple sectors. To this end, Mr. Garcia's pledge to focus on improving air quality, increasing accessibility and improving business opportunities for all residents is, undeniably, the Truth to Power that this community needs.

Finally, I suggest to you that candidate Daniel Garcia offers the people of the North San Fernando Valley a chance at combining compassionate and aware grass-roots social organizing with a drive to refine and invigorate business and economic development. No other candidate in this city council election can boast of more tenacity, perseverance and real-world leadership experience than Mr. Daniel W. Garcia.

Very Truly Yours,
Stan Smith

I have known Mr. Garcia for over twelve years as an advocate working for the civil rights of all persons with disabilities.
