Growth is essential for a community to thrive, but with growth needs to come some common sense. High Density Housing may be the lifeblood of some communities in Southern California, but the reason that people live in Glendora is because they want a more traditional lifestyle.

The citizens of Glendora have shared their opinions with our City Council and it seems our Council has turned a blind eye. we need a City Council who will listen to the community and make decisions based on the best interest of the community. We continue to hear that no one spoke up or that our City Council didn't have a choice but to approve these high density developments. I believe they did have a choice and I know many people spoke up but the Council didn't listen. We finally have their attention.

One of the reasons that was used for approving these projects was the need for income to the City. Whenever High Density Housing is introduced into a community, it diminishes the property values of the entire community. Immediate income from fees for a development is traded for lower income in the future from Property Tax Revenue. Todays leaders have to stop balancing their budgets on the backs of future generations. We see this at all levels of Government. It is difficult to make changes in Sacramento & Washington, but we can make changes at a local level.
