Restore Faith in Sacramento

By Louis L. Dominguez

Candidate for State Senator; District 35

This information is provided by the candidate
People are showing their lack of belief in their elected officials by not voting. Part of the reason for this is that they feel their elected officials only care about the next seat, the next position. When all they care about is raising money for the next campaign they cannot be doing their job.
The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different outcome. We have been guilty of doing this for years. We elect the same people over and over and then expect that they will suddenly do differently what they have been doing for years.

In many cases as soon as he or she is elected to the Legislature they immediately begin to plan and raise money for their next job. I call this the Merry-Go-Round effect - I will support you for this job, so that in a couple of years you will support me for the next rung of the ladder.

I am not looking for a new career. I am not looking for a stepping stone. My desire is to do the best job I can as a senator representing our area and serving the State of California. I pledge that I will not be running for any other elected position.
