? 1. How would you prioritize the fiscal choices the Legislature must make to align the state’s income and spending?

Answer from Hector Serrano:

We have to stay within the state budget. spend funding more wisely on resources that residents are going to benefit from.

? 2. Given our current drought condition, concern for water rights and usage is an important issue. What solutions would you support to address our water problems?

Answer from Hector Serrano:

Promote desalinize technologies/plants up and down the coast to stop the drought.

? 3. California high school students rank lower than many states in student performance. What do you see as the ongoing role of the Legislature in addressing this problem?

Answer from Hector Serrano:

The main problem of our education system teachers have many students in one class. Therefore, teachers cannot provide enough attention to each student. Legislatures should help teachers get higher salaries to perform higher and educate students more effectively. Students are not challenged enough, which allows them to lose interest in the class and not aspire to a higher education.

? 4. What other major issues do you think the Legislature must address? What are your own priorities?

Answer from Hector Serrano:

Some of the major issues is the infra structure of our state. The streets, highways, freeways need to be rebuild to ensure safety to all Californians. This will also help create jobs.

The pollution needs to be reduced and eradicated to improve peoples' health.

We need to improve the voter turnout because our democracy is in danger.
