Candidate for US Representative; Pennsylvania Congressional District; District 7

The American Dream of a college education is becoming out of reach for far too many Americans. A student wanting to attend college should not be burdened with a lifetime of debt.
In Congress, I will FIGHT to make college more affordable. As the first person in my family to graduate from college I know how hard it can be for students to afford a college education. That's why I support the Emergency Loan Refinancing Act introduced by Senator Elizabeth Warren. This bill will give students a fair shot by allowing them to refinance their existing loans at 3.86%, which is the current rate for new loans.

This bill will also give millions of people out of college the opportunity to refinance their loans at today's low rate of 3.86%. Americans will be able to use the money they save from reduced student loan interest to save for a house, better provide for their families, and start new businesses. The Emergency Loan Refinancing Act will help current students and their families as well as the millions of hard-working Americans who are out of college and are still paying on their student loans. I also support increasing Federal funding for Pell Grants and other programs that help hard-working young people afford a college education. A vote for me is a vote to make the dream of a college education more attainable for millions of Americans.
