Smart Voter Political Philosophy for Eric A. Ziedrich

Candidate for
Council Member; City of Healdsburg

This information is provided by the candidate

I think that the biggest challenge facing Healdsburg is maintaining the best of what we have in this community while "tweaking" areas that require fine tuning. The reason why I think that this is our greatest challenge is primarily a politically-focused concern. Throughout our county, state, and country, our communities appear to have become progressively more fragmented. Our US Congress, our State legislature, our County Board of Supervisors all seem to have become combative and confrontational bodies that prioritize the "win" over the "public good".

During my previous terms on the City Council, I have seen other Sonoma County cities trade places as the most volatile and combatively- governed cities in the county. When the city councils become divisive and confrontational, everyone suffers and the community pays the price.

I think that it is extremely critical to elect representatives who have a proven ability to represent and honestly communicate with all interest groups; and make decisions that respect everyone's interests and needs.
