Re-Align Public Safety

By Keith Rhinehart

Candidate for Council Member; City of Santa Rosa

This information is provided by the candidate
Support Public Safety by reallocating some General Fund and "O" monies AWAY from the Police and towards Fire Safety, Gang Prevention and Career Technical Ed.
The General Fund and Measure "O" funds are over-allocated to our Police Department. We need to fox this. In the name of Public Safety, we need to:

- Turn on all the streetlights in town.

- Provide more "Public Safety" monies to our Fire Department so our "pumpers" and ladder trucks will be properly staffed.

- Provide funding for a Full-time Emergency Services Coordinator for our Fire Dept., which is currently only covered by "band-aid" annual grants.

- Make sure our Gang Prevention activities are fully funded through a revised Measure "O" tax or an alternative method, should Citizens vote to abandon Measure "O."

-Fund Career Technical Education programs in high schools so our will children graduate ready to pursue employment, attend a technical school or SRJC, or attend a four-year University or College.
