Why I am withdrawing and whom to vote for now

I decided to run for City Council because I was convinced we needed better leadership for our city. Having participated in three public forums that included the two incumbents, I am more convinced than ever that this is a critical time to implement change. There are three open seats and up to now there have been four candidates who are pledged to reform the Council. I believe it is important not to dilute our efforts. We need to get three good people elected. Consequently, I am requesting that my supporters vote instead for the three reform candidates who are pledged to honesty, transparency and fiscal prudence

  • David Eblovi
  • Deborah Ruddock
  • Dr. Deborah Penrose.

David Eblovi is a fighter who gets things done. He has worked to preserve parks and the Main Street Bridge. Deborah Ruddock is a former Mayor of Half Moon Bay who among her other achievements has helped preserve our small town character and improve traffic flow on Highway 92. Dr. Penrose is a long time local doctor who now has a chance to heal our community. All three of these candidates will work together to fix our Council. I believe I can do the most good for our community now by continuing on as a Director on the Coastside Fire Protection District where I will continue to work for community involvement in the decisions that affect us all such as approving appropriate sites for new fire stations.

I am extremely gratefully for all the support I have received from the community and I hope that you will respect my decision and the reasons for it. We deserve better government in Half Moon Bay. I believe that my withdrawal from this race makes that eventuality more likely.
