Candidate for
Board Member; South San Francisco Unified School District

In December 2013, I was appointed to serve on the SSFUSD Board of Trustees. Since then, I've gained critical knowledge about the strengths and weaknesses of our public schools. I'm a candidate for a full term in order to address the challenges and elevate the standards necessary to provide a quality education for our children.

I was born and raised in South San Francisco and my two daughters are both successful examples of SSFUSD students - the youngest is a senior at SSF High School. Working with the PTA over the last 20 years has given me a strong understanding of the District and needs of students, staff and South San Francisco residents. I will continue to build close working relationships with South San Francisco elected officials, Police, Fire and businesses to ensure our schools are the best.

As a San Mateo County Sheriff's Correctional Officer, my number one priority is to provide a safe and secure learning environment. I will also encourage parent involvement in their children's education, ensure District staff is transparent and accountable, and work to attract the best teachers and staff to guarantee our children's success.
