Community Experience

I was a Cabrillo School parent for 15 years, with three children attending K-8. During that time I served in many volunteer positions. I have gone on to become a founding member of Music Matters in Pacifica (MMiP) and am currently on the Pacifica Education Foundation (PEF) Board of Directors. I have lived in Pacifica for 26 years.

My focus these past years has been to support Middle School Instrumental Music. Through PEF/MMiP the band program has continued to thrive, and the PEF 21st Century Education Program has now become part of the curriculum. Having been a Computer/Technology teacher in the past, I have seen technology grow in our schools from the beginning. I have worked at Holy Angels School in Colma for 20 years, giving me an inside view of the daily workings of K-8 schools.

When I was a young parent and had my hands full with three growing children, there were many devoted parents who served on the School Board. These people gave of their time so my children could benefit. Now that mine are grown, I feel the need to support the new young families currently in our schools.
