It is the City Council's job to serve the public and I promise to listen to you. The public process is often a messy one, with input, discussion and disagreement. This is discouraging to most of us when it leads to antagonistic, partisan public arguing. Open dialogue about issues affecting our City provides for the best solution. Discussion leads to collaboration and "buy-in" with all sides involved.

Fiscal responsibility is a key priority for me. The City must continue to use taxpayer dollars wisely. I'm very aware that the City's money is your money, and I will use my experience as a CPA to ensure responsible spending and balanced budgets.

I will Continue to advocate for a strong local economy. Businesses, both large and small, provide local residents with jobs as well as shopping and recreational opportunities. City government should help people start up and run their businesses by removing obstacles and providing guidance on relevant regulations. Also, it is important that Wal-Mart, approved by an overwhelming majority of Atascadero voters in 2008, be built at the Del Rio interchange. It has been held up in court for far too long by those who oppose Wal-Mart; it's time to get it built.

It is a great honor serving the City of Atascadero and I take seriously the responsibilities of the office. I'd be honored to have your vote to serve the next four years.
