Being on the front lines teaching at Lowell High School and building excellent relationships with students, parents, teachers, and administrators, Dennis Yang knows what it takes to work effectively and harmoniously with all the different groups and stakeholders involved in education. He will use his experience and relationship-building skills to form collaborative efforts with the other school board members to help resolve the various issues our district faces.

A San Francisco teacher his entire career, Dennis Yang is a native San Franciscan and a proud product of the San Francisco public school system. He attended Spring Valley Elementary School, Marina Middle School, and Lowell High School. Dennis went on to UC Berkeley for his BA in Chinese language and literature and attended SF State University for his MA in Chinese. Both of Dennis' parents were San Francisco teachers and they instilled in him a love and passion for learning and education.

Starting in 2000, the first three years of Dennis' teaching career were spent at his alma mater, Lowell High School. He then went on to teach at the Urban School of San Francisco, where he created, developed, and implemented their Chinese language program. Dennis is currently teaching at the Bay School of San Francisco.
